University UNESCO Chair on Gender Equality and Sustainable Development has been a reputable interdisciplinary hub for gender and sustainable development studies with its faculty members and researchers from multiple disciplines since 2016. The Chair brings together faculty and researchers from multiple disciplines such as sociology, history, law, nursing, philosophy, political science and engineering in order to share research, conduct collaborative national and international projects and undertake various academic and training activities within and outside the university on issues pertaining to research on gender and sustainable development initiatives. Within the four years period, it has undertaken various research, teaching and training activities within and outside the University including conferences, panels and seminar series for national and international audience, funding programs to support outstanding academic research projects, applications to the EU funds and supporting students&rsquo; engagement in the Chair&rsquo;s activities. Faculty members and researchers under the Chair come together with a common interest to foster academic debate, build research collaborations and create awareness of gender and sustainable development issues.&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Additionally, the Chair cooperates with the stakeholders from public and private sectors as well as international organizations. We have a firm belief in the necessity of connecting different institutions, NGOs, companies and acknowledge the interdependence between academic scholarship, institutional best practices and policy makers at domestic and international levels. The Chair aims also to establish project-based networks to broaden its vision and increase its impact. This general&lt;br \/&gt;objective materializes in several lines of action:&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;To carry out research on women and gender, and to transfer its results.&lt;\/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;To organize conferences and seminars on the field of study of gender, sexuality&lt;br \/&gt;and cultural criticism.&lt;\/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;To organize and to collaborate in teaching activities in higher education degrees,&lt;br \/&gt;masters and doctorates on Women, Gender and Sexuality studies.&lt;\/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;To establish international relationships and to promote academic exchange and&lt;br \/&gt;cooperation at the national and international levels.&lt;\/li&gt;&lt;\/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;At the Universitat de Barcelona, such lines of action are accompanied by the following&lt;br \/&gt;activities, carried out within the lines of action of ADHUC&mdash;Research Centre for&nbsp;Theory, Gender and Sexuality (UB):&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Studies and publications about women and gender as part of funded research&lt;br \/&gt;projects.&lt;\/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Diffusion of results at conferences, as well as in scientific journals and other&nbsp;publications. The most notable of which include the journal Lectora. Revista de&lt;br \/&gt;dones i textualitat and the &ldquo;Mujeres y culturas&rdquo; series (Icaria Editorial).&lt;\/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Series of Lectures on Gender and cultural criticism and on Women writers,&nbsp;university extension and summer courses, Barcelona Seminar and international&lt;br \/&gt;conferences and seminars.&lt;\/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Training in women&rsquo;s and gender studies: courses at undergraduate, masters and&nbsp;doctoral levels at the UB (particularly the masters and PhD in Construction and&lt;br \/&gt;Representation of Cultural Identities&ndash;CRIC).&lt;\/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Academic exchange and cooperation on topics related to gender with&lt;br \/&gt;universities and centres of women&rsquo;s and gender studies in Europe (France,&lt;br \/&gt;Germany, Italy, Portugal, Poland and the UK), North Africa (Morocco and&lt;br \/&gt;Tunisia), America (Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, the United States and Canada).&lt;\/li&gt;&lt;\/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;Likewise, at the Universitat de Vic&ndash;Universitat Central de Catalunya, the main&lt;br \/&gt;objectives of the Chair are accompanied by the following activities:&lt;\/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;The collaboration between researchers and faculty members with scholars and&nbsp;centres of international prestige, with public institutions, and with multiple Civil&lt;br \/&gt;Societyorganizations.&lt;\/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;The development of a well-established relationship with the local community.&lt;\/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Inter-university exchanges, promotion of conferences and seminars,&lt;br \/&gt;presentation of research at conferences, and publication of the results.&lt;\/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;The promotion of an impact on a local level by conducting workshops, lectures,&lt;br \/&gt;and programs.&lt;\/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Training graduate and postgraduate students from the UVic-UCC and other&lt;br \/&gt;institutions in the field of gender studies.&lt;\/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Participation in public debates on the role of gender in the economy, sexual&nbsp;identity and sexual diversity, and humanities through the organization of&nbsp;seminar and conferences and our participation in activities organized by other&lt;br \/&gt;institutions.&lt;\/li&gt;&lt;\/ul&gt;&lt;h5&gt;Main topics of work:&lt;\/h5&gt;&lt;p&gt;Research on the theorization, practices and cultural representations of gender and sexual&lt;br \/&gt;diversity in the fields of literature, cinema, the arts, philosophical thought, history and&lt;br \/&gt;health, from Antiquity to the 21st century.
