“La urgencia de vivir. Teoría feminista de las emociones”. The new book by Teresa Langle de Paz, member of the Global Network of UNESCO Chairs on Gender

The book is a comprehensive theory to illustrate and bring attention to the fact that feminist politics should not disregard or misuse the rebellious constituencies of affect that are often obliterated, minimized, rendered invisible due to inner naturalization of gender and pervasive oppression, or due to methodological overvaluing of cognitive mechanisms over emotionality.

“Langle de Paz’s exploration of feminist emotion, and its invisible and elusive pre-conscious role in women’s rebellious agency, opens up new opportunities for feminist analyses and politics. Her ongoing work provides crucial insights for both theorists and activists.” Sandra Harding

Teresa Langle de Paz, co-coordinator of the UNESCO Chair Gender, Wellbeing and a Culture of Peace, will present the book on Wednesday, May 8th at the Instituto Cervantes in Madrid, Spain.
