The UNESCO Regional Chair Women, Science and Technology in Latin America, based in FLACSO Argentina participation in the International Conference for the 30th Anniversary of the UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs Program.

Professor Gloria Bonder, Coordinator of the UNESCO Regional Chair on Women, Science and Technology in Latin America, based at FLACSO Argentina and Coordinator of the Global Network of UNESCO Gender Chairs, will make a presentation at the International Conference for the 30th Anniversary of the UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs Program, which takes place on November 3-4 at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris.

The presentation will be held in the Parallel Workshop 3: “Open Science, Artificial Intelligence and Implications for Future Researchers” on Friday, November 4, from 11:00 to 12:30 (CET), in Room III.

The panel will be moderated by Mr. Ezra Clark, Director of A.I., Division of Science Policy and Basic Sciences, UNESCO, and Ms. Sonia Bahri, Senior Advisor for Science and Sustainable Development, French National Commission for UNESCO.

The opening will be given by Mr. António Sampaio da Nóvoa, University of Lisbon, former Ambassador of Portugal to UNESCO.

Presentations during the panel will be shared with colleagues from different UNESCO Chairs: Mr. Ismael Rafols, UNESCO Chair, Diversity and Inclusion in Global Science, The Netherlands; Mr. Rajesh Tandon, UNESCO Chair in Community Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education, Canada/India; Mr. John Shawe-Taylor, UNESCO Chair in Artificial Intelligence, United Kingdom; and Mr. Siyabulela C. Fobosi, UNESCO “Oliver Tambo” Chair in Human Rights, South Africa.

It will be a great opportunity to exchange ideas, activities and projects from the perspectives and experiences of the different Chairs, and their respective subjects and belonging latitudes, considering the normative guidelines of the 2017 UNESCO Recommendations on Science and Scientific Researchers, and the 2021 Recommendations on Open Science and Ethics of Artificial Intelligence.
