Transformations in process: Towards the institutionalization of gender equality policies and programs and curricular and pedagogical change within universities and research centers in Latin America

This two-day conference is organized by the Community of Practice on Gender Equality Policies and Programs in Latin American universities and research centers, in the framework of the Act on Gender Project financed by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program, and made up of a consortium of 17 prestigious academic institutions from 10 European countries.

Latin America is part of this initiative through the coordination of the UNESCO Regional Chair for Women, Science and Technology in Latin America – FLACSO Argentina, directed by Gloria Bonder from this Community of Practice, in which 15 prestigious institutions from the region participate.

The objective of the Conference is to share analysis and learning about experiences of institutionalization of policies and plans for gender equality and the impact on curricular and pedagogical transformations in universities and research centers in Latin America.

The opening ceremony will be led by Gloria Bonder, coordinator of the Conference, and Luis Alberto Quevedo, Director of FLACSO Argentina.

Representatives of institutions from Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico and Peru, which are part of the Community of Practice, will be presenting their papers during the two sessions. The Universitat Oberta de Catalunya -coordinator of this international initiative- will present the main advances in this field in European institutions.

This space for dialogue is aimed at strengthening ongoing actions and inspiring new strategies in line with present and future contexts.
